Sanded Grout

This is a cement-based sanded grout that is resistant to cracks and water. It does not shrink easily and produces a hard and thick joint. The Polyblend® sanded grout has been created for durability. It accommodates joints that are between 1/8” and ½”. These joints are for exterior or interior installations of countertops, fountains, floors, walls, pools, showers and ceilings. Because of its ability to produce a hard and thick joint it is not recommended for joints that are smaller than a 1/8 of an inch.

The room and floor’s appearance may be affected by the thickness and color of the grout used on the ceramics. To highlight the tile color, use a light colored or white grout. The pattern layout of the tile will be emphasized if you use a light grout on a dark tile or a dark grout on a light tile.

In sanded grout, too much shrinking is avoided when it cures by adding fine sand to it. The reduced shrinkage makes it possible to be used in larger grout lines. It is therefore the best for the majority of tile installations.

Though it is the correct choice for grout lines, sanded grout may not be the best for some type of tiles. For example, much care need to be taken when using it on polished stones such as marble, granite, some polished travertine and limestone. The sand present in the grout may scratch the stone depending on its polish. To prevent any scratches, test the sanded grout on an area that is not easily noticed. However, the best option is to use epoxy.

Making a Wise Choice

Because of its performance, design options and style, the tile has been chosen by many homeowners in the country and around the world.
We therefore hope that you will have a confident, complete and comfortable shopping experience on ceramic flooring with this shared knowledge.
